Day 1, thought 1.

So this is my attempt at an 8 year long London survival plan. I have somehow allowed my mental health and attitude towards this city deteriorate to such an extent that I now am of the belief that it is going to take at least one good, wholesome and purely positive thought about London every single day to extract me from my mind-made prison and propel me onto, and hopefully along, the path to “happiness” .

I am not entirely sure when my love affair with London ended, but I feel as though London has probably woken up to the horror of being undeservedly and undeniably dumped by me, its ill-gotten lover and all that all that remains of our once blossoming love are a few jaded memories of short-lived summers and subterranean transport.
I have lost my ability to see its finer points, its re-deeming features. The benefits of European proximity and the abundance of theatre and live music have become over shadowed by the grimy pub food and the solemn and very unwelcoming expressions worn by its 8 million inhabitants. And oh London! By the way... your grey skies were as destructive to this relationship as a dagger is to the heart.
During the first 3 months of this year, our already fragile relationship hit an all time low. The combination of work exhaustion, physical frailty and a total of 6 sunny days in 6 weeks culminated to a point where there was only one shot at repatriation...... ESCAPE!!!!!
And thanks to a hasty island extradition, followed by a good 3 weeks of foreign charm and natural light, I have regained my composure enough to re-consider this relationship. And so here I sit, plugging away at my laptop, committed to finding one good thought for the next 2922 days..... GULP!!!
